Telangana government to change SSC exam pattern

The Telangana government has decided to change the pattern of the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) / Class 10th examination from the academic year 2014-15.

According to the new pattern, students have to answer the annual examination question paper for 80 marks instead of 100 marks. The remaining 20 marks will be given as assessment marks in various aspects by the schools.

The government also retained the provision of 11 theory papers, all the subjects will have two papers, except for second language. Each paper will have 40 marks and 20 marks will be assigned to internal assessment marks.

In order to familiarise the students with the new pattern, the state government schools will follow the same new pattern for class 9th students too.

From next academic year 2015, revaluation of the examination papers will not be allowed, only recounting and re-verification will be allowed.

It was decided that the existing facility of students appearing for SSC public examinations without regular study be cancelled. Instead, such candidates should appear for Class X exams through national or state open school systems, the orders said.

What are the changes?

  • 20 marks for internal assessment
  • No revaluation
  • Private school students are barred from attempting the examination
