Over 6320 students across 573 schools spread across 150 cities enrolled for ASSET Talent Search in 2015

Bangalore, November 2016: India's leading Research-Based Products Company in the Education industry, Educational Initiatives (EI), has begun its search for India's brightest young minds again this year through ASSET Talent Search (ATS) 2016. The test scheduled for 27th November 2016 will be held at various centres across India and the UAE. Students who top this test will get an opportunity to enrol for the 3-week residential ASSET Summer Programmes in India and well known universities in the U.S. Last year, ASSET Talent search saw over 6320 enrolments from 573 schools across 150 cities in the country.

ASSET (Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing) as an initiative was launched to identify, analyse and measure various parameters related to the learning abilities of students after research done by Educational Initiatives across the country proved that children used to rote-learning failed to answer unfamiliar or application-based questions due to lack of conceptual clarity.

Today, ASSET is a market leader in school assessments in India, with over 4 million assessments in the last decade. It was with a view to make the ASSET project more holistic and integrated that Educational Initiatives introduced the ASSET Talent Search (ATS) last year to identify extraordinary academically gifted students in India.

Seeking India's Bright Young Minds Through ASSET

Students from classes V to VIII are eligible to apply. Students can register online at http://www.ei-india.com/asset_talent_search/

How ASSET Talent Search works:

Grade-level tests may not always challenge academically gifted students sufficiently and reflect their true potential. The ASSET Talent Search (ATS) seeks to identify academically talented students from grades V to VIII and then provide them recognition, guidance and opportunities to help them reach their true potential.

Only those students who score 90% and above in ASSET at their grade level or are in the 10% of their grades in Maths, Science and English can participate in the ASSET Talent Search. For students and parents who feel their children are academically exceptional, this test can be a starting point to validate their belief and help them suitably plan the academic future of their children.

Last year, over 12000 students qualified to be a part of the ASSET Talent Search across India. They were selected from over 3 lakh students who appeared for ASSET.

Speaking about this initiative, Mr Srini Raghavan, CEO, Educational Initiatives said, "The ASSET Talent Search provides participants a unique platform for gifted children to stimulate and challenge themselves at the level of their peer group, with the aim to realize their true potential."

Educational Initiatives is the first organization in India that is effectively addressing the needs of parents and teachers to help talented students find an outlet for their advanced skills. Mr. Raghavan adds, "Educational Initiatives works with schools to deploy its scientifically designed program, the ASSET Talent Search to handpick such children across India. We believe that India is a treasure trove of talent and are happy to see so much enthusiasm among parents and teachers for this program."

Benefits of participating in ASSET Talent Search for children:

Students scoring exceedingly well in the ASSET Talent Search will be certified as "ASSET Talent Scholars" and, the toppers as "ASSET Talent Scholar Gold". ASSET Talent Scholars get an opportunity to enrol for the 3-week residential Summer Programmes in well-known universities in the U.S. such as the UC Berekley's ATDP, Northwestern University's Centre for Talent Development, Purdue University and EI's customized ASSET Summer Programme in India.

In the Summer Programme students are trained across various subjects and introduced to a discovery pattern of thinking rather than just acquiring bookish knowledge. These programmes provide a unique learning environment to the students and are thoughtfully designed to also teach topics that are not covered in the regular school curriculum.

It is a creative residential experience devised to nurture teamwork, leadership and camaraderie among students with an aim to develop leaders of tomorrow. Participating in the international programmes based on their interests can open opportunities for students at a global level.
