Introducing HashLearn, an app to help students to be exam-ready

By Deepak

Education has been ascending towards the technologically advanced state, transforming itself from one form into another. Earlier, projectors replaced blackboard culture by displaying pictures and videos for students helping them study effectively. Now, there are smart-boards in schools that are just like a computer loaded with valuable information pertaining to a specific topic. These technologically upgraded devices have made life easy for both teachers and students.

As said earlier, education is being presented in different avatars in order to make learning easy for the students and introduce them to various layers of education with a touch of sophisticated technology. A recent addition to the list of initiatives designed for taking education one step ahead of its previous position is HashLearn, a learning app developed by Jayadev Gopalakrishnan, an education entrepreneur and Gokul Janga, a technologist.

What does HashLearn app do?

All it takes is a screen shot of a problem one wants to solve and click on a button 'Connect Tutor', after which a student will be connected to a tutor from one of the IITs and Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and other BITS campuses.

A student can get any of his problems in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at any time as the tutors are always available. The developers of HashLearn app aim to take the useful content related to the aforementioned science subjects to the students of small towns and villages. It is a good initiative since thousands of students dwelling in small regions cannot afford coaching classes.

Who are the tutors?

According to the Business Line, the tutors the students would converse with through the app are a group of intelligent and innovative minds who have cracked the toughest exams of IIT and BITS. Some of them are present or ex-IITians, who are involved in part-time jobs and are also full-time tutors. The tutors available on HashLearn are specialized in specific areas such as integral calculus in maths and they are paid on a per-session basis.

Subjects taught on the app

The educational app offers classes on physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology. It also covers school examinations of all boards along with State and National entrance tests.

How to subscribe this app?

Students of class eight and above can use HashLearn. The students can subscribe different packages of subjects which are divided into combinations - physics, chemistry and maths (PCM) or physics, chemistry and biology (PCB).

Those, who want to subscribe a one year plan which comprises unlimited sessions, will have to pay Rs 333 per month. The app has extended its aid to National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) aspirants as well; they will have to pay Rs 499 for physics, chemistry and biology combination.
