IIT Bombay, Delhi and Chennai are the top choices for JEE aspirants

IIT Bombay top choice for JEE Advanced aspirants

The result of the first round of online choice filling for admission to the engineering branches in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and ISM Dhabad has been announced.


According to the data, IIT Bombay is the first choice for JEE Advanced 2014 toppers. IIT Delhi and IIT Madras are in second and third position respectively.

In these IITs, Computer Science is the most sought-after branch in engineering. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering branches are second and third most preferred branches by the students.

According to the students, IIT Bombay has acquired top position in placements and research based programmes offered by the college, which make the students partial towards IIT Bombay.

Out of top 10 rankers in JEE Advanced, 9 were selected IIT Bombay.

A total of 58 students out of top 50 rankers have selected the CS branch in IIT Bombay. Out of top 100 rankers, 36 were allotted to CS branch in IIT Delhi. IIT Chennai admitted four students.

According to reports, 84 students out of top 100 have chosen CS branch in IITs.

Nations prestigious and most coveted institutes, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee have failed to attract top rankers. These institutes were ranked under top 100 universities in the world.

IIT Bombay has successfully placed in the top 50 educational institutes as per the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asian University Rankings 2014.
