Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2016 is conducted for admission to IITs for their M.E / M.Tech courses, across the country. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), jointly administer the conduct of Graduate Aptitude of Test in Engineering (GATE).
GATE 2016 will be held from January 30 to February 7, 2016.
GATE 2016 papers:
The GATE would be conducted in the subjects as shown in brochure. Candidates must familiarise themselves with the paper code and the paper of their choice. A candidate can apply for only one of the 22 papers listed. The below table show the list of GATE papers with code.

GATE 2016 structure:
- The syllabus for each of the papers is given separately. Making a choice of the appropriate paper during GATE application is the responsibility of the candidate.
- The candidate is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree.
- However, the candidate is free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wish to seek admission.
- All the papers will have few questions that test the General Aptitude, apart from the core subject of the paper.
