CBSE offers counselling for students to beat board exams

The CBSE is offering counselling services to students to cope with exam stress and anxiety.

Exam period is extremely stressful for many students and some of them are so stressed that they underperform, but this doesn't occur because of the lack of their abilities but because they have to cope with the high level of exam stress.

 

When studying for exams students are normally confronted with exam fear and stress. Parents expect a lot from their children and therefore pressurise them to perform well in exams. However, keeping high expectations and pressurising children during exams can cause stress in them.

The factors which can create a high level of exam stress includes competition, low self-confidence and negativity. In order to determine whether the exam stress has reached dangerous level in your child, it is advisable to ponder the cause of stress in the children and take careful decisions.

The Central Board Of Secretary Examination (CBSE) is offering counselling services to students to cope with exam stress and anxiety. But there are many other ways to ease the stress. In today's highly competitive world, students face various academic problems like exam stress, disinterest in studying and inability to understand the subject.

So the students need not worry about the upcoming board exams, CBSE is offering counselling to make the board examinations stress free.

What is the good factor?
As the board exams are around the corner, the CBSE will provide counselling to de-stress students during exams, the board announced on Monday. Counselling is open to parents of the students as well.

How is the Counselling provided?
Counselling will be provided over the telephone to students of all the CBSE-affiliated government and private schools. This service is also available to CBSE affiliated schools located abroad. 68 Principals will be available in India and 22 abroad in Nepal, Japan, Saudi Arabia (Al- Khobar, Jeddah) the UAE (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah), Kuwait, Singapore and Qatar. This will be the 20th successive year, where the CBSE will be providing tele-counselling to students during exams.

When is it functioning?
This helpline will start on February 9, 2017 and will continue till April 29,2017.

So how is the process of Counselling?
There are well-trained counsellors affiliated government and private schools and 90 principals, a few psychologists and specials educators will assist students in tele-counselling and monologue about exam related psychological issues of the students.

How to get connected?
Students can dial the toll-free number 1800 11 8004 from any part of the globe to get connected to the counsellors between 8 a.m to 10 p.m. And the interesting note is that four special educators will help the differently-abled students.
