Booming management programs for working profession

4. With the ever growing and ever changing system of organizational structure around the world, what is the effectiveness of built-to-suit curriculum in helping students keep themselves updated with work standards?

At BRIDGE, we recognize the situation and have adopted a multi-pronged approach to make our program industry relevant at every stage. This includes:

  • Understanding Needs and Need Gaps, through comprehensive Primary Researches, One on One interactions with Industry leaders and studies from knowledge institutions
  • Industry led Program Councils to input into program development, give insights into skill gaps faced by their sectors, design curriculum with relevant Projects/Case Studies/Soft skills and decide delivery structure
  • Collaboration of Industry and Academia, with Academic/Program Chairs working with Program Councils, continuing development of content based on inputs from Industry and, constant validation of content and delivery structure with Program Councils

Programs will be delivered in a blended format. Students will be attending classes at state of the art learning centers, and will also be able to complete reading and coursework online.

5. In addressing a giant-sized issue such as - 'Education-Employment Mismatch' in India, due to theoretical learning with out-dated content, irrelevant in today's competitive world - Could you please highlight few substantial ways Bridge School of Management has planned to deal with it.

According to a survey done by a Business Magazine (Business World, May 2012), "India's Higher Education is not Industry Oriented." Most management institutes today focus only on theoretical learning with outdated content irrelevant in today's competitive world, which results in an ‘education-employment mismatch'.

44% of the recruiters find it difficult to get the right talent in the 4-8 years of experience bracket. On the other hand, there are millions of working adults who are unable to fulfill their need for career enhancement and higher income due to a mismatch in the skills and competencies that they have and what industry needs. 40% try and upgrade their qualifications while making a career shift.

BRIDGE School of Management has been conceived to address the ‘employability' gap to help India's rapidly growing Service and Manufacturing industry educate and empower employees for a 21st century global workplace. Leveraging the best-in-class knowledge, experience, expertise and technology from Apollo Global, Inc. (USA), BRIDGE will aim to provide an innovative learning environment and industry focused management programs for working adults to boost their career.

6. What would you like to share about student experience and engagement in the development of corporate education in India?

Our view at Bridge School of Management is that there exists a wide chasm between what the Indian Universities are producing and what the industry needs and the gap is widening instead of reducing.

We follow a process of first understanding corporate needs by functions and at different levels and then use collaborative channels like Program Councils and Academic Councils, which consists of Academics and senior Industry Professionals, to define content and pedagogy.

We also carefully look at new techniques in angragogy - the science of adult learning-to ensure that we are able to present education in a manner which is convenient and informative for our students. We also work with our students to help them identify the skills and competencies required by the industry, understand where they are on these parameters and then we help them acquire such skills which would help them do better in their careers.

We are a student and corporate focused school, understanding what our customers want and need, and helping them get what they need in a meaningful manner.

BRIDGE School of Management is a flagship business school launched via a joint venture between HT Media Ltd. & Apollo Global, Inc. (USA). Apollo Global is one of the world's leading higher education providing companies.
