Why take up CA as a career?

As of today, there are only 2.5 lakh Chartered Accountants and 8.5 lakh students all over India, who are pursuing this course. The economy of our country is booming up and there is need of more and more Chartered Accountants and the scope is therefore excellent. There is heavy demand specially, for the Indian Chartered Accountants.

In Bangalore alone, there are more than 40,000 students pursuing this course and more and more will be joining this course in near future, as Engineering & Medical Courses are becoming costly and also the scope is getting narrowed down.

About CA

This CA course is a self-financed course unlike Engineering and Medical which are exorbitantly costlier. As regards Chartered Accountancy course is concerned, one has to spend including Registration, Examination fee, Tuition fee all put together approximately Rs.1.00 lakh and the students would be getting stipend of more than Rs.1.00 lakh in the term of three years and as such there would be no burden to the parents and even the poor students can take up this course as it is self-finance course.

Payscale for CA

The starting salary of a Chartered Accountant would be approximately Rs.50,000/- to Rs 1 lakh per month with prospects of quick promotional opportunities and the student could pursue this course after PUC or while pursuing the Degree such as BA, B.Sc, B.com etc., to CPT or on completion of graduation directly to IPC.

Eligibility Tests

The PUC students have to appear for a test called Common Proficiency Test (CPT) and on passing the same they have to pursue IPC (Inter Proficiency Course) and then final examination of Chartered Accountancy.

Even the Graduates of B.Sc., B.A., with 60% marks and B.Com. with 55% marks could pursue this course directly without going through CPT . The Graduate who have not obtained 55% marks have to take CPT and on passing the same only they will be eligible for taking up C.A. course.
