JEE Advanced examination pattern may change from next year

JEE Advanced exam pattern may change
Joint Admission Board (JAB) may change the JEE Advanced entrance examination pattern from pen and paper, to computer based test from next year.

JAB will call the higher authorities to meet up to take the decision on changing the pattern of the JEE Advanced examination.

In 2013, JEE Advanced exam had conducted in both pen & pencil and computer based examination.

With the view to take a decision regarding this computer based examination pattern and admissions to IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), Joint Admission board is going to conduct a meeting in the beginning of September.

Devang Khakhar, Director, IIT Bombay, has stated that his team has discussed the proposal regarding the implementation of computer based examination pattern. It seems that everyone has accepted the proposal. His team has proposed another option to the board, i.e. to keep it as an option in the first year, if it is not possible to change the entire system at a time.

In 2013, around 12 lakh candidates applied for JEE examination. Out of which 1.74 lakh candidates opted for JEE Advanced computer based test.

IIT Kharagpur had conducted the JEE Advanced examination for the year 2013.

Officials of IIT Kharagpur are also planning to implement computer based test. Management wants to see how many people will show interest to write computer based examination.

Officials will consider the deviations and suggestions before taking the final decision.
