Crash Course for NEET 2013 aspirants
The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh decided to offer a crash course for the students appearing for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET 2013). The interim stay on NEET 2013 in AP case is in Supreme court, if court makes NEET 2013 mandatory for admissions in the state medical colleges.

The Intermediate Board designed the short time crash course for intermediate BPC group students who are seeking admission into MBBS Dental Courses. The short time course for BPC students will be designed with the additional topics in the CBSE syllabus that is not present in the Andhra Pradesh state syllabus. This course will be taught to BPC students on every Saturday and Sunday.

Secondary Education department of Andhra Pradesh has given instructions to intermediate board to provide the students who are appearing for NEET with the short time crash course. A meeting was held with the intermediate board secretary Ram Shankar Nayak and Secondary Education Principal Secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari. It was discussed in the meeting that if NEET is made compulsory the additional syllabus in CBSE course should be identified and the crash course should be designed by Medical Council of India (MCI) decided to set the NEET question papers according to CBSE syllabus. As per the notification of MCI, NEET will be held on May 5, 2013.

Government of India has filed a petition in Supreme court to give exemption form NEET 2013 to Andhra Pradesh. This is now pending with the supreme court. According to authorities, Supreme Court may pronounce its judgment on Dec 27, 2013 on NEET. Students and their parents are now worried whether they have to apply for NEET or EAMCET and whether they have to write both NEET and EAMCET.

It was identified that NEET syllabus and state syllabus are different by nearly 30%. The short time crash course thus will be designed with this syllabus if NEET is made compulsory. Students will be given taight the crash course in Saturdays and Sundays. If supreme court gives exemptions from NEET 2013 then students can write EAMCET. Rajeshwar Tiwari said that the crash course is designed as a precautionary measure to avoid loss to the students.

Around 1,43,163 intermediate BPC students are studying in Andhra Pradesh, among these 54,179 are English medium students and 90,984 are Telugu medium students. Nearly forty thousand Telugu medium students appear for medical entrance exam.

Study material for Telugu medium students is hard to get. Students have to prepare for their Intermediate exams, prepare for NEET and those who are seeking admission into Dental and Agriculture courses have to prepare for EAMCET. Intermediate board is also going to print the additional NEET syllabus in booklet form. Board authorities are saying that students will be taught these in special classes.

Meanwhile, Students are confusion over to preparing for NEET and EAMCET. There is a lot of difference between Telugu Academy syllabus and CBSE syllabus which is going to cause loss for the Telugu medium students.
