Gone are the days when one had to wait for a teacher to get back to you to clear your doubts. In this age of technology, we can learn things at any time, from any place. We need not wait to begin learning until the start of the semester.
E-learning has become popular around the world. A person sitting in a remote place can learn anything the world has to offer. Students belonging to different countries can learn the courses offered from a country they cannot afford to go to. Due to the advantages the e-learning has, it has become the most opted form of learning these days.
What is the need for a teacher when a person can find things out for himself or herself? E-learning, after all was devised such that educators' work is reduced. We don't really require someone lecturing about things. Through e-learning, the process of learning is revamped. It makes one feel independent. Knowledge is just a click away. But does this mean we no longer require teachers?
Of course not! E-learning is made easy because there are a set of learnt educators or teachers, working together, putting in the data required and organising things, so that the person on the other end gets a hustle-free training session. You may think that you will be able to completely relay on technology to get the answers for all your questions. But the truth is that you will still require a guide to take you through the right path.
At times, you may never be able to get the right answer and the searching will lead you into a loop wherein everything you get as an answer is not relevant. In such cases, one requires a person who is knowledgeable, to give you the correct answers, and that knowledgeable person is mostly a teacher who has done intensive study and research on the subject.
A system may crash at anytime. You cannot rely on something that is virtual. E-learning is a virtual learning process. Just imagine you are interacting with "nobody". It is incomplete if there is nobody to update the data or guide you through properly or answer your queries as and when they occur.
Nothing can take over human intelligence and the teachers who shares knowledge without hesitating. No technology or a man-made robot can ever replace the "old-reliable-teacher" who is just a call away to answer you, guide you and to help you out and most importantly, to be your motivator.
This is what we feel. What is your take on the subject? You are welcome to share your views here: https://www.facebook.com/careerindia.com
