The exam season is here and it could be a stressful time for all the students. The preparation for semester exams should be well planned. Have a study schedule and keep track of your progress. Having a study timetable reduces stress, anxiety and enables you to focus on the scheduled topics. Here are some other good and simple steps that can be followed by students with ease. Candidates can chalk down a proper learning plan for the test by considering these steps below.

Know Your Syllabus

To prepare for semester examinations, a planned and organised approach is all that is required. Study material insync with the syllabus is the first thing an aspiring candidate must have.

Clarity of concepts and regular practise of each topic and problem is most important. Make note of all important topics and segregate the topics in terms of your strengths and weaknesses. Prepare a timetable and allot ample time to each topic. Complete a topic and then shift to the next one, do not jumble the topics, otherwise, you will end up confused. It may not be possible to cover the entire syllabus; whatever topics you decide to study, make sure you know everything about them.

Make a note of all the important points. This comes handy during the final days of the examination when it is impossible to go through each page in your book all over again. Keep a track of the exam pattern and the paper pattern so that you can plan your strategies. Make separate notes of the formulae from all subjects. Practise diagrams and label them. This will help in quick learning and will guide you towards the right direction.


Solving Question Papers

There are different approaches for different problems with different methodology. Semester exams can be tricky, some questions have to be handled with different tactics and perspectives. Consistent practice will make candidates confident about the subject and will help them tackle the question paper with ease. Try to solve as many question papers as possible within the time limit. This will help you gauge your preparations and will let you work on your speed.

Avoid spending too much time on the difficult and tricky questions, which you feel are difficult to crack. Managing time leads to attempting most of the questions, which eventually lands in success.

Try to finish the paper before the final call, so that in the end you get time to revise your paper. It's good that you know almost all the answers, but revision is a must. In fact, while revising if you find any mistakes, you can correct them. Try to have 3-4 revisions before you appear for the exam. This boosts you confidence level. Cover the entire syllabus and keep time for revisions. Revisions shall help you refresh your topics.

Students must be confident in answering questions. Cracking a tough examination might be difficult, but it is not impossible with dedicated preparation paired with faith and confidence. Take care of your health while preparing for the examination and do not strain yourself. Take breaks, indulge in recreation activities. Sleep well.
