How important is education for everyone?

The single balancing force today, on which the world is moving ahead is "Education". Education is learning and knowing things. It is the main reason for survival. Human beings are the only most evolved species of the lot. And this is the fact, because we have been educating ourselves on a continuous basis.

"Education is important to everyone" - this can be claimed as true, when we do not limit the word "education", to only being concerned with the classrooms or formal ways of learning things.

Going back in time, to the days when early-men walked the earth, one can see that the needs give raise to finding ways to fulfill the needs. How the fire, wheels and clothes were made use of, gives us an example of how the needs paved way to discoveries and inventions. Had the process of learning stopped right there, then what would the world of today be like? There would have been no progress.

The most important aspect of all, is the interest the learner shows in receiving the knowledge that is being passed on. If there is no curiosity of knowing how a certain thing works or why a certain phenomenon occurs then the knowledge will be lost.

The world today is not the same. Almost half the things we use and learn about, involves knowledge that cannot be available if one doesn't educate him/herself about the same. The future of a child is not validated based on how educated he/she is or would become. Some of the schools that exist now, have made it mandatory, that the child's parents must be educated for them to enroll the student. One may argue about this not being a fair policy. But, on a broad spectrum, we can see that an educated parent will be able to help their children out in school related work and in educating their children better than those who aren't educated. The parents who aren't educated may find it difficult to understand the needs of their children in terms of education.

We have always come across the stories where an illiterate is always made fun of, or are called "innocent". We must remember that "innocence" has got nothing to do with being ignorant to knowledge. If one has to survive in the changing world, one has to be educated.

Everyone who is educated knows that education is important. There are many ways to learn things. It isn't always necessary to have a teacher or an instructor to help you learn. Self-studying is one way to educate yourself. Find the benefits of self-learning here: "Self-learning vs. teaching - What's the impact level on the learner?". There are self-help books, many websites to browse and learn, listen to people who know the subject. Or attend classes if you must. The government too has realised the significance of education. Free schools are being offered. There is attractive schemes to cut-down the drop down rates as well. Free classes are conducted for the adults in remote areas. Hence, the importance is high. It only requires self-motivation to go ahead and educate oneself.
