The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released an IAF Notification 2020 inviting online applications from eligible and interested Indian nationals (men and women) for filling Two Thirty-Five (235) Commissioned Officers post in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Entry and NCC Special Entry through AFCAT examination to be held on February 20, 2021 and February 21, 2021 respectively to be posted anywhere in India on a fulltime basis. The online registration-cum-application process towards the same starts from December 1, 2020 onwards and closes on December 30, 2020.
Candidates interested in applying for Commissioned Officers post through IAF Recruitment 2020 must have completed 20 years of age and not have exceeded 24 years (Flying branch) and 26 years (Ground Duty) as on January 1, 2022 with relaxation (upper age limit) for reserved categories as specified in the IAF Notification 2020. Candidates must pay a prescribed amount of Rs. 250 as examination fee for AFCAT Entry through online (net-banking/credit/debit etc.) mode or any other mode as applicable. However, candidates registering for NCC Special entry are exempted from paying the exam fee as mentioned in the IAF Notification 2020 given at the end of the article. For NCC Special Entry (Flying) 10% Seats out of CDSE Vacancies for PC and 10% Seats out of AFCAT Vacancies for SSC are allocated as specified in IAF Notification 2020. Desirous candidates applying for Commissioned Officers post through IAF Recruitment 2020 must possess the following qualifications: IAF AFCAT 2021 Flying Branch: Passed Intermediate/10+2/Class XII or equivalent with in Maths and Physics with minimum 50 marks and Graduation (any discipline) or B.E/B.Tech engineering degree with minimum 60% marks from recognized University/Institution as specified in the IAF Notification 2020. IAF AFCAT 2021 Ground Duty Branch (Technical): Passed Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent with Maths and Physics with minimum 50 marks and B.E/B.Tech in relevant engineering disciplines listed in the IAF Notification 2020. IAF AFCAT 2021 Ground Duty Branch (Non-Technical): Passed 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 50 marks and Graduation (any discipline) with minimum 60% marks; B. Com Degree/BBM/BMS/BBS/B.Sc. with specialization in Finance as mentioned in the IAF Notification 2020. The selection of candidates to Commissioned Officers post through IAF Recruitment 2020 will be done through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT- 01/2021) as notified in the IAF Notification 2020. Candidates selected to Commissioned Officers post through IAF Recruitment 2020 will be paid an emolument as per the Indian Air Force norms.
