Abhyudaya Co-Operative Bank Ltd, which is based in Maharashtra, is one amongst the reputed co-operative banks in the country since the 70s. The bank, which was formed in 1964 with a group of social workers and labour activists, has reached the total business mix of over 16,000 crores.
Many job seekers aim to become a part in Abhyudaya Bank when it is striving to expand its base. Every year, the bank issues the recruitment notification for the post of Probationary Officers and Clerks. When thousands of aspirants are aiming for a job in Abhyudaya, the competition will not be less. The Bank has issued the Clerk recruitment notification for approximately 100 vacancies. In order to apply for the examination, candidates need to meet the eligibility requirements set by the bank. Any graduate from a recognised university is eligible to apply online. The desired candidates should also have proficiency in the Marathi language along with English.
The selection process for the Clerk in Abhyudaya Bank will be based on the online test and interview. Candidates who qualify in the online written examination will be called for the interview. The final merit will be based on the marks obtained in the written examination and an interview.
The online written examination will be conducted for 200 marks. There shall be negative marking for wrong answers. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes. The online test would be conducted as under.
- Reasoning: 40 questions (40 marks)
- English Language: 40 questions (40 marks)
- Numerical Ability: 40 questions (40 marks)
- General Awareness (With special reference to Banking Industry): 40 questions (40 marks)
- Computer Knowledge: 40 questions (40 marks)
The examination may be held in multiple sessions. In such a case, the normalisation process of scores will come into effect. Candidates have to secure a minimum score in each test to qualify for the next phase of the selection process, i.e., interview. However, the bank will decide the cutoff score.
Aspirants need to hone their logical thinking and analytical skills to score well in this section. The most important topics are blood relations, syllogisms, directions, data sufficiency, alphabet series, coding-decoding, seating arrangement and analogy. One should also know the simplification for the arithmetical reasoning questions.
This section tests candidates' language proficiency such as grammar, prepositions and vocabulary. Candidates have to focus on important grammar rules such as tenses and verbs. There will be questions on the reading comprehension as well. Reading the editorials in the newspaper will help in reading comprehension.
Aspirants are advised to master the basic concepts such as averages, ratios, LCM, percentages, simple interest and compound interest. Without the command on the basic calculations, they cannot go for most important concepts such as time and work, time and distance, interest and discount, decimals and fractions and number systems. Practise is key to score well in this section.
The current affairs along with facts on the banking industry will help to score well. Preparing current affairs of last 6 months is good enough. One should also focus on general awareness such as polity, history, science and economics. Taking more number of practice tests will help to score more.
It tests the candidates on both theoretical and practical knowledge. Aspirants should read all the important concepts in the history of computers. Candidates will surely find at least two questions on Windows Operating System and MS Office. We advise candidates to know all the abbreviations and shortcut keys.
