E-Conclave On National Education Policy 2020: Holistic Approach, Stakeholders Participation Needed

An e-Conclave on National Education Policy 2020 will be held tomorrow on August 7, 2020 from 02:00 pm to 03:00 pm. People interested can participate in the webinar after registering themselves.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted an e-Conclave on the "National Education Policy 2020" on August 7, 2020 from 2:00 pm onwards with Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director CBSE; Mr. Jagdish Chand Chaudhary, CMD Aakash Educational Services Ltd., and Dr. Aarti Srivastava from MHRD presiding as the Chief Guests in addition to domain experts from the industry, government and academia participating in the webinar.

In hindsight to the Union Cabinet approving the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) aimed at bringing about 'transformational reforms' in school and higher education systems in India, the webinar focused on 'Universalization', 'Globalization,' and 'Inclusion' aspects of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).

Besides, the e-Conclave on the "National Education Policy 2020" explored and discussed areas such as:

  • Major Transformational Reforms in School Education and Higher Education
  • Outcomes of NEP 2020
  • Technology in Teaching, Learning and Assessment and
  • Innovation and R&D

Speaking on the occasion, Biswajit Saha, Director CBSE said, "The framework of National Education Policy (NEP) is poised for future development of the nation. The policy talks about how early intervention will increase participation in vocational education in school and higher education."

"The policy is in the direction for energizing the young population and reframes the national curriculum giving transformation and implementable action plan in school and higher education. The core objective of imparting education is getting transformative in the coming times and intended to increase industry participation," Dr. Saha added.

The CBSE Director also stressed on the need to train teachers to transform the existing education system and participation of all stakeholders to create a positive environment among parents and students.

Echoing the same, Dr. Kamlesh Vyas, Partner, Deloitte said, "Different stakeholders and industries need to work together to make this policy successful. The pressure of career decisions will be minimized with flexible opportunities by multiple entries and exit options."

Speaking about the challenges in the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), Dr. Aarti Srivastava from the NIEPA, expressing the need for participation by private sector said, "Education policy needs to meet these future demands by rejuvenating and liberating the approach. There is a paradigm shift in the structure of education and setting up a Higher education committee in India is in the pipeline"

We as education warriors in our maximum capacity will implement this policy in the best possible manner, Dr. Srivastava stated.

The webinar held on August 7, 2020 from 02:00 pm to 03:00 pm also had Dr. D K Aggarwal, President, PHDCCI; Dr. Kamlesh Vyas, Partner, Deloitte and Dr. Vishwa Mohan Bansal, Chairman, Education Committee, PHDCCI as the key speakers in addition to the chief guests.
