CBSE To Reduce HOTS, Class 12 Math Paper To Get Easier From Next Year

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reported to reduce the difficulty level of CBSE Class 12 Mathematics paper from the next year. The board has claimed to reduce the number of controversial higher-order thinking skills questions (HOTS) and to introduce short answer type questions carrying 2 marks.

This decision was made after the tough question paper of 2016 board examination which has lead to many students scoring less marks.

According to CBSE, the following will summarise the new CBSE class 12 exam paper pattern.

Introduction of Short-answer type questions:

As declared by the CBSE board, the exam paper patter will be reviewed and short-answer type questions carrying two marks to be introduced and it will reduce the number of controversial high thinking questions.

The HOTS will be split and carry 10 marks

Class 12 Math Paper To Get Easier From Next Year

The infamous higher- order thinking skills (HOTS) questions will be split into 2 sections. The HOTS will carry 10 marks of 2 sections of 6 and 4 mark questions.

The new paper pattern will give more options for the students to choose from.
