CBSE Class 12th Evaluation Criteria 2021
The CBSE will prepare the result based on the marks scored in Class 10 and Class 11 along with Class 12 pre-board exams. The Committee has recommended a 30:30:40 formula - (Class 10 - 30%, Class 11 - 30% and Class 12 - 40%). The practical marks will be 100.
Class | Component to be evaluated | Percentage |
Class 12 | Marks based on Unit Test/ Mid Term/ Pre-Board Exam | 40% |
Class 11 | Marks based on theory component of final exam | 30% |
Class 10 | Marks based on average theory component of best three performing subjects out of main 5 subjects | 30% |
Each school should form a result committee to consider the marks of students obtained in the three examinations. Students should note that those who are not satisfied with the marks/grading mechanism can improve their marks by appearing in physical examinations. However, the examinations will be held when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
The CBSE has released important guidelines regarding the practicals/ internal assessment. It has asked the schools to complete the pending practical/ internal assessments in online mode and upload the marks by June 28, 2021. The date of the practical examination or project evaluation will be decided by an external examiner in consultation with internal examiners.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chaired a high-level meeting and decided to cancel the postponed Class 12th board exams due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. PM Modi has also cancelled the Class 10th board exams in April.
