UPSC Revised Exam Calendar 2020

The UPSC held a special meeting on June 5 and released the revised exam calendar 2020. It has also announced the new exam dates for Civil Services (Prelims) 2020 and other recruitment exams. The IAS Prelims 2020 will be held on October 4, 2020.

UPSC Special Meeting On June 5

The official notice reads, "The Commission held a special meeting on June 05, 2020, to review the prevailing situation due to COVID-19. Taking notice of the opening of lockdown and progressive relaxations being announced by the Central Government and various States, the Commission decided to issue a revised schedule of Examinations/ Recruitment Tests (RTs). Details of the revised calendar of Examinations/ RTs have been published on the UPSC website."

It also reads, "The Commission also decided to resume personality tests for the remaining candidates of Civil Services Examination 2019 from 20 July, 2020. Candidates will be informed individually."

"Recruitment Test for the posts of EO/AO in the Employees' Provident Fund Organization earlier scheduled to be held on the October 04, 2020 has been deferred. New date for conduct of this RT will be published on the website of the Commission at the time of issue of calendar of Examinations/ Recruitment Tests for 2021, it concluded.

UPSC Civil Services Exam Date On June 5

The Commission held a meeting on May 20 and announced that the new exam date will be announced on June 5 after conducting a meeting. It is also considering to release the new calendar on June 5.

The Commission held a special meeting on May 20 to review the situation after the third phase of the nation-wide restrictions, due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The notice reads, "With a view to giving some clarity to candidates of various examinations and interviews, which have been deferred over the last two months, the Commission will issue a revised schedule of examinations in its next meeting to be held on June 5, 2020. Details of the new calendar of examinations will be published on the UPSC website, after the Commission's meeting on June 5, 2020."

UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) 2020 Postponed

The UPSC has postponed the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2020 due to ongoing lockdown caused by Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19). The offline Prelims exam scheduled on May 31 cancelled and fresh exam date will be released on May 20 after analysing the situation.

The official website reads, "The Civil Services (Prelims) Examination 2020, scheduled to be held on May 31, 2020, stands deferred. The decision on the fresh date of the examination will be made available on May 20 after assessing the situation."

Aspirants who have registered for the IAS Prelims 2020 exam should note that the dates of UPSC IAS admit card and exam date will be released on May 20 after assessing the lockdown situation

UPSC Special Meeting On May 4

The Commission held a special meeting on May 4 to review the situation regarding exams postponed. It has also reviewed the situation after the second phase of the nation-wide lockdown due to COVID-19.

The Commission had decided to defer the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2020, which also serves as the screening test for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination. The fresh dates for these examinations will be announced on May 20 after assessing the situation.

(a) Personality test for remaining candidates for the Civil Services Examination, 2019

(b) Notification for the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2020

(c) Notification for the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2020

(d) Notification for the Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2020

(e) NDA & Naval Academy Examination, 2020

The official notice reads, "As and when dates are decided for the deferred tests/examinations, it will be ensured that candidates are given a notice of at least 30 days."

UPSC Review Meeting On Exams Dates

The UPSC has conducted a special meeting on April 15 to review the situation arising out of the Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the Commission has postponed the dates for all interviews, examinations and recruitment boards, where candidates and advisers are required to travel from all parts of the country.

UPSC is likely to take a decision on fresh dates for the remaining Civil Services-2019 Personality Tests after the second phase of the lockdown, i.e., May 3, 2020. In case of any changes in the dates for the Civil Services-2020 (Preliminary), Engineering Services (Main) and the Geologist Services (Main) Examinations will be intimated through the official site.

The Commission has already released the deferment notices for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE), the Indian Economic Service (IES) and the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2020.

The dates for the CAPF Exam 2020 will be notified on the UPSC website. The National Defence Academy (NDA-I) Examination has already been postponed till further intimation. However, a decision on the NDA -II Examination will be posted on June 10, 2020, the scheduled date for its notification.

UPSC Donation To PM CARES Fund

The UPSC Chairman and Members have decided to voluntarily forego 30% of the basic pay received by them for a period of one year, with effect from April 2020. In addition, the UPSC staff members have volunteered one day salary to the PM Relief Fund/PM's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM CARES Fund).
