Z.F. Wadia Women's College & N.K. Jhota College of Commerce, Surat was established in 1965 under the management of Vidyamandir Society.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade  - (CGPA Score 3.01 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 15th September 2016.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses & two years postgraduate courses in Arts & Commerce stream under Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. It also offers some self-financing & certificate courses.

The medium of instruction in the Faculty of Arts is Gujarati, while in the Faculty of Commerce, the institute imparts education through both Gujarati and English medium.

The following are the aims and objectives of Vidyamandir Society:

• To spread education, particularly women’s education
• To take all actions necessary for the fulfillment of the said aims
• To establish and absorb educational institutions, to give and take alliance, and to unite for the attainment of the said aims
• Advancement of education as such and to assist in that direction and to carry education on a higher level thereby
• To take all actions necessary and to run activities for the attainment of the above-mentioned aims, in a direct or indirect manner
• To undertake every educational activity promoting all round human development
