Yashwantrao Chavan Law College was established in the month of June 1978.

In the beginning, the college was known as A.B.M.S.P. 's Law college. However in the year 1987, in the memory of our country's great visionary leader Late Shri Yashwantrao Chavan, who rose to the height of Deputy Prime Minister, the name of the college was changed, as a mark of respect & honors towards him.
