Y.V. RAO Siddhartha College of Education, Kanuru was established in 1984 to provide a pre-service training at secondary level (B.Ed Course) and managed under the Siddartha academy of general and technical education, vijayawada.

The Siddartha academy of general and technical education, vijayawada was established in 1975 with a galaxy of enlightened and elite persons of Andhra Pradesh by which the educational map of Andhra Pradesh which was an educational Sahara turned into an epitome of education of Andhra Pradesh.

The academy has been running 15 educational institutions pertaining to school education for Intermediate, Degree, PG Levels, Engineering, Technology, Law, Teacher Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmaceutical, Dental etc.

The college is affiliated to Krishna University, Machilipatnam and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college was inaugurated by Prof. K. Rama Mohan Rao, the Vice-Chancellor of Nagarjuna University on 23rd January, 1984 and the college was renamed as Y.V.Rao Siddhartha College Of Education on 10-02-2000.

The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 45 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

The college has well-equipped with all modern facilities and Congenial atmosphere is created for the student-teachers to develop all round personality and capability.

Students here are admitted based on the Andhra Ed CET and counseling.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Viswa Jyothi College of Education, Krishna in its various departments.

The college has been contributing to the advancement of intelectual and human resourses capacity of the nation through Teacher Training. The faculty believes that the quality of education,life in general is dependent on the quality of the teacher in the classroom.
