Prin. L.N. Welingkar Insitute of Management Development & Research, Bengaluru, was established in 1977 is one of the oldest trust in the space of education informally known as WeSchool.
The institute was managed by Shikshana Prasaraka (S.P) Mandali, Pune Trust which was established on 21st November 1952, also managed by HRD Ministry, Government of India.
The institute is recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi & International member of The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AASCB), Florida (USA).
WeSchool is also SAQS (South Asian Quality Assurance System) accredited, an accreditation conferred by The Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA).
The institute aims to prepare globally competitive management professionals with strong moral, personal and social values and whose training and management skills are grounded in appropriate and advanced concepts and principles.
The institute is awarded a certificate of ISO 9001:2008 Certification.
It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Bengaluru played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.
The institute has been ranked 50 in India amongst Best private school by NIRF, Also ranked 12 in India amongst best business school by the leading media house.
The Institute offers two years programs in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM-General) in the field of Management Information Systems (MIS), and Marketing & Innovation Management. It also offers Ph.D. programs.
WeSchool programs have also been approved by the Distance Education Bureau to offer its programs in distance mode.
The students were selected through CAT, MAT and COMED-K Entrance Examination conducted every year. Admission also can be done through XAT and GMAT.
Average of 50% in all examinations leading to graduation (45% for SC/ST candidates) and 75 percentile and above in any of the Entrance Tests-(75 percent and above).

- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
