VP & RPTP Science College, Gujarat was established in 1947. Its affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Anand (SPU).

V.P.&R.P.T.P. Science College is one of the oldest Sciences colleges in Gujarat. It is managed by Charutar Vidya Mandal and established in 1947. It is affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. It was first an Arts and Science College, after 1959 it has been fully devoted to Science. It has won the award of the Best Science Colege of Gujarat on THREE Successive occasions. Eminent personalities like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Nobel Laureate Dr. C.V. Raman, Shri Prithvirak Kapoor had visted the college on various occasions.

V.P. & R.P.T.P. Science Colelge is spread over an area of 6412.45 square meter with spacious and well ventilated classrooms, fully equipped laboratories, Computer Center with internet facility, a separate Library Building which has a Reading Room with internet connectivity. The college also has a hugh Central Hall with a capacity of 1500 students. The college also boasts of a beautiful garden in its campus. There is a separate canteen in the college campus.

The college is just a stone's throw away from Mota Bazar and is in the close vicinity of Post-Office, Banks, ATMs, Bus Stop, Shops, Restaurants, Hostels, Play Ground and University Office.

Today there are 12 departments in the college with a staff strength of 56 teaching faculty members with almost half of them having a Ph.D. as their highest qualification.

The institute is named after Vithalbhai patel. The college was established by Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) a Public Charitable Trust & its accrediated A+ by NAAC.

It has its aim to educate and empower students, to support and promote efforts to apply science and scientific inventions to the advancement of human welfare, to encourage basic research and upgrade research environment that are conducive to the drive for world class science and technology.
