Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education, Vellore was established in 2008. It is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

The College of teacher education is aimed at imparting education and supporting education system by giving well skilled and qualified educators. Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course of 1 year duration.

Vivekananda Vidyalaya is an offspring of A.V.A. Mudaliar Educational and Charitable Trust which has been founded by Thiru. A Subramaniam, a philonthropist and an Educationist in 1990. As the chair person he started a primary level Matric School in 1991. This Matric School has floruished like a banyan tree due to his steadfast adherence and hard work to increase in strength. It has been upgraded to a Matric. Hr. Secondary School in 1999 and today the school has a strength of nearly two thousand students.

Not limiting his quest for education, to a limited circle, he has saught for the ways and means of improving the standard of the Teaching community. So, he started a teacher Training Institute for primary & Elementary School Teachers, in 2006 - 2007. He got it recognised by the NCTE, Bangalore and laterson approed by the D.T.E.R.T, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Being the correspondent of Vivekananda Vidyalaya Group of Educational Institutions, he went a step forward to start the B.Ed., Degree Course in the year 2008. He obtained the recognition from the NCTE, Bangalore and the affiliation from the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, for the Vivekanada Vidyalaya College of Education with an intake of 100 students. We have produced very good results in the B.Ed., Degree Course consequently we have obtained the continuation of affiliation in 2011 - 2012 and later on in 2014 - 2015 from the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.

Now, we have conque under the New Regulations 2014, which consists on 2 years B.Ed., Degree Course from 2015 - 2016. The NCTE has given recognition to start the 2 years B.Ed., Degree Course with an intake of two basic units consisting of 50 students each. Ours is a renowned institution with all basic amenities and the infrastructural facilities. It is now a composite institution where primary to Higher Education is possible in one and he same campus.

Education for all, irrespective of caste, creed and position is our motto of running the institution. The last grade citizen should also enjoy the privilege of free and compulsory education. There is no compromise with regard to quality in education.
