Vinayaka Missions University(VMU), Salem formerly known as Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation, is a Deemed University established in 2001.

Later,in the year 2006, it was renamed as Vinayaka Missions University and conferred the degree of a full-fledged University by the University Grants Commission.
