Vidya Prasarak Samiti's College of Education, Ramdurg (Dist. Belagavi) was established in 2004 under the management of Vidya Prasarak Samiti (R) which was established in 1965.
 
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

Since its inception, the college was affiliated with Karnatak University, Dharwad till 2009-10. From the academic year 2010-11 onwards the college was re-affiliated with Rani Chennamma University, Belagavi.
 
The college is recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bengaluru & Government of Karnataka.
 
The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

At present, it is a full-fledged college imparting knowledge and skills of teaching to student teachers and provides professional education to youths of this region with the intake capacity of 100 students.
 
The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course and every department has highly qualified, experienced and competent lecturers.
 
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college has successfully completed twelve years and more trained graduates have successfully come out of this college and some of them are servicing as teachers in the different parts of the state.
