Victoria College (VC), Kolkata was established in 1932. Its affiliated to University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

Victoria Institution (College) has been a premier centre of learning for the female students of our society over the last eighty eight years. The primary goal of our Institution is to provide a high quality academic environment and constantly motivate our students to become socially committed citizens.

At Victoria Institution (College) we believe that each sudent is special and has the potential to excel in myriad ways. OUr programmes offer specialized education required to achieve students' future endeavour. We offer General and Honours Courses in almost all the major subjects from the Science, Arts and Commerce streams. The teaching-learning programmes are marked with personal mentoring; students are encouraged to work in teams and learn from peers. The college organises meeting between parents and teachers, in presence of the Principal, to discuss the student's progress and find solutions to academic or behavioural problems. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its evaluation, awarded our college a B+ Grade.

The College has an excellent infratructure with well equipped teaching laboratories, a spacious auditorium and a seminar hall with all modern amenities. The college is well protected with security guards and CCTVs are installed at all strategic outdoor locations on the college campus. The College has a well furnished, affordable hostel to accommodate outstation candidates. Distribution of these rooms is in accordance to the merit list. However, currently, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we are unable to provide hostel facilities. The institution also has a Placement Cell for providing employment opportunities to graduating students through campus recruitment in various reputed organizations like TCS and many others.

The Covid-19 pandemic has altered our perception of reality and confined our students to the four walls of the house. Despite such unprecedented times, we have continued our journey of imparting education to out students by conducting regular online classes, interactive sessions, tutorials and video lectures.

In order to keep the students engaged the college has also organized several national, international webinars and web based workshops. I am confident that humanity will overcome these challenging times and our students will seize the opportunity provided by this stimulating environment to enrich themselves and build a better future.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

The Primary Objective of Victoria Institution (College) is to faciliate learning, which is a life-long process, by creating excellent academic ambience and by providing all-round general education of body and mind by means of rich curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes taken under th esupervision of sincere and competent faculty members.

The Institution aims at providing a unique atmosphere of socio-religious harmony where every girl gts opportunity to find her own unique strength and opportunity of self-expression which would enable her to face any challenge in the context of rapid changes in the socio-economic-cultural scenario of the society.

The Institution also tries to maintain a Ragging Free Zone.

It has been the chief aim of the Institution to inculcate in every student a sense of responsibility towards society, respect for human being and care for nature and environment, so that she can become a worthy member of the society.

creates opportunity for every student to develop her full potential, istands by the side of disadvantaged pupils, provides every student within its means the best possible educational and cultural experiences, envourages every student to take part in community development programme, provides an excellent atmosphere where students from all communities and all strata can cordially interact with one another in group activities and excursions and enrich the campus life.
