Vector Control Research Centre (VCRC), Puducherry established in 1975.
Its affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University.
VCRC has been carrying out basic and applied research with the primary objective of finding newer methods and developing strategies for the control of vector borne-diseases.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the VCRC as a collaborating centre for research and training in lymphatic filariasis and integrated methods of vector control.
The main aim of VCRC is development of newer tools for the control of vector borne diseases.
To develop epidemiological surveillance tools for vector borne diseases, to develop intervention strategies for control of vector borne diseases, to take a lead role in transfer of research findings to operational settings and to develop methods for rapid response and disaster management.
