About Vaish Mahila Mahavidyalya, Rohtak
Vaish Mahila Mahavidyalya, Rohtak was also known as Vaish Girls College, Rohtak was established in 1973 as the ‘Girls section’ of Vaish College, Rohtak under the management of Vaish Education Society, Rohtak which was established in the year 1919.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the girl's deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) from the session 1997-98 under Act, 1956 and in 1992, the college got the status of an independent girls’ college.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.63 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 10th December 2014.
In the beginning, only B.A classes were started in the college. Then seeing the good response of students, B.Com (regular) was introduced in 1981. B.Com (vocational) and BCA (regular) with were introduced in 2001 and PGDCA (regular) in 2004.
M.Sc (regular) in Computer Science was introduced in the session 2008-09 and the college gained the status of a post-graduate college.
From the session, 2009-10 BBA has been started. Four PG courses, M.A English, M.A. Economics, M.Com and M.Sc Maths were introduced in the session 2010-11 and two PG courses, M.A Hindi and M.Sc Maths with Computer Science in 2011-12.
There has been a constant increase in the strength of students in the college over past few years. In the session 2012-13, approx. 2200 students were enrolled in different regular courses in the college.
Along with the addition of new courses, there has been a continuous improvement in the infrastructure and other needed facilities in the college.

- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls, playground & hostel etc.
- A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- The college has a book bank for helping the poor and backward class students
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- Transportation facility is available for the students
- The college has also got its own Girls’ hostel through which boarding facilities are being provided to the girl students from far off areas from the session 2008-09
- Because of conducive academic atmosphere, the results of this college have always been higher than university results
- The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
- "Yashaswinee" the annual magazine of the college brings out the hidden talents and creativity of the students in the form of write-ups in Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Commerce and IT section languages
