Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, Udupi was established in 1957.

The College is one of the educational units of Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, Manipal.

The law college, which is a linguistic Minority Institution, is one of the reputed and oldest law colleges in India.

Vaikunta Baliga College of Law is approved by Bar Council of India (BCI), Government of India, New Delhi for its academic programs and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

It is affiliated to Mangalore University.

To cater to the educational requirements of the young generation, the college imparts undergraduate programs in the discipline of law - Bachelor of Laws (LLB), which are provided for both three and five years.
