About Valaballary Channabasaveshwar Education Society's Arts and Commerce College
Valaballary Channa Basaveshwar Education Society Arts & Commerce College, Raichur was popularly known as V.C.B. College, Lingasugur established on 24th December 1984 managed by the V.C.B. Education Society.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
It is affiliated to Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 12th July 2007 & 12(B) on 29th August 2007 under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.42 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 1st May 2015.
Being the oldest college of Lingasugur town it has produced many eminent personalities and has possessed a heavy strength of students.
The college offers undergraduate courses Arts & Commerce stream with various optional specializations and every department has highly qualified, experienced and competent lecturers.
A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students in its various departments. The college has well equipped, airy and spacious class rooms with all modern facilities.

- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 1st July 2004 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the boys & girls coming from far-off places
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
