United Mission Degree College, Bengaluru Urban was also known as United Mission College (UMC), Bengaluru Urban was established in 1985.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.35 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 21st February 2014.

The institution is managed by the Karnataka Central Diocese of the Church of South India headed by the chairman Rt. Rev. Dr. P K Samuel and the Board of Management.

The college is co-educational and offers various educational programs at the pre-university and university level which are designed to equip students to become leaders of tomorrow.

The primary objective of providing University Education in a Christian atmosphere for deserving students, especially those belonging to the marginalized Community. It is committed to offering a complete education that develops the students intellectually, professionally and spiritually.

United Mission Junior and Degree College is a co-educational institution and offers pre-university and undergraduate programs designed to equip students to become leaders in their careers, communities, families and in the world.

At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under the Department of Pre-University Education Karnataka.

Apart from these courses, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, & Management streams with optional specializations under Bangalore University, Bengaluru.
