University Law College, Bangalore University, Bengaluru is an only constituent college of law directly administered by the Bangalore University was established on 1st July 1948 and started by Govt. The state of Karnataka.
The college is widely recognized as one of the country’s best government run law schools.
The college was previously known as the Bangalore Government Law College. Later in 1964, ULC was brought under the Faculty of Law of Bangalore University.
It is affiliated with the Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956
It is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi & Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
The aim of the college is pursuing academic excellence through teaching, research, publications and by providing access to all sections of the society to pursue higher education for promoting leadership qualities among students making them socially sensitive citizens.
It is a co-educational Govt. college, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Bengaluru played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
Here, the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the University and the recognized Government.
The college has been received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities and was ranked 3rd among top law colleges in India.
The college has consistently been ranked amongst the top law colleges in India as the 2nd best law college in the country by leading media houses.
The college presently offers a five years B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and a one year LL.M. courses. It also offers Ph.D. & Post Graduate Diploma courses as well.
Admission is open to any candidate who has cleared his/her 12th standard examination from any recognized Board across India.
The students have to clear the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and Law School Admission Test (LSAT) which serves as the qualifying examination for the university. Admission has been done when seekers who have registered with the University are eligible for admissions in the college.
Such candidates should examine whether their percentage marks (Best of Four/PCB/PCM, whichever is applicable) falls within the cut- off percentage declared by the College for admission in different courses.
