Triveni Debi Bhalotia College, Raniganj,  was established in 1957 and affiliated to Burdwan University and recongized by the UGC.

Triveni Devi Bhalotia College (TDBC) commenced its journey from 1957 as a UGC registered college [under 2(f) and (12b)], affiliated under the University of Calcutta & accredited by NAAC. The institution initiated its establishment under the affiliation of the university of Calcutta. Howeve, it became affiliated to the University of Burdwan in 1960. Presently the College came under the aegis of Kazi Nazrul University on 24th June, 2015. The College is a co-educational institution which is run in two sections - Morning section and Day Section.

Over the years the college has consolidated its postition as a premier institution in the state of West Bengal imparting learning in diverse areasof Humanities, Commerce and Basic Sciences. Emerging Subjects in the field of Applied Sciences such as Computer Science, Electronic Science, Biochemistry, Psychology, Food & Nutrition are given due emphasis. Several Post graduation degree courses that teaches to specialize in specific fields aims to emplore the horizon of knowledge among students. Such specialization will help to place students in various research fields, jobs as well as entrepreneurships. Also to be mentioned that several other courses are in the pipe line which are to be initiated soon.

The philosophy of education as imparted by the College gets translated into its somewhat advanced academic structure. Grounded to the fact of reality, TDBC has sought ot avoid the narrowlu conceived structure of conventional education, preferring instead to bring allied and applied disciplines within the broad spectrum of its academic wing, under whose ambit of supervision pupils can opt any subjects of their own choice. There are also Special Centres that are outside even this broad structures, called jionkathi, that extends the teaching - learning process among primary school children.
