Tripura Medical College, Agartala & Dr B.R Ambedkar Memorial Teaching hospital performed the first Bi-Lateral total Hip Replacement with MOM (Metal on Metal) Operation thus adding another first to its repertoire of ‘firsts” in the Medical History of Tripura.

This is the first time that a Bi-lateral Total Hip Replacement was performed not only in Tripura but in the entire east of India and this extremely complicated operation was performed by a surgeon of national repute Dr Rakesh Rajput.

He was assisted in this rare & complicated surgery by Dr Abhijit Sarkar, Dr Pandab Paul, Dr Jayashree Sen & others.
