T. John College (TJC), Bengaluru Urban was established on 13th September 1993 founded by Dr. Thomas P. John under the management of Marougen Education Foundation.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956 and also it is recognized & approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi to offer Management courses.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (in 3rd Cycle) on 23rd January 2017.

Since its inception, the college started with just 24 students, offering the undergraduate program in Hotel Management. Just in about two decades, TJC has grown to a premier institute with state of the art infrastructure with an ascending graph in various parameters such as Student strength and progression, learning resources and subject expertise.

Marougen Education Foundation was born from the dedication and perseverance of an educationist, social worker, philanthropist and visionary, Mr. T. John, Ex-Minister of State for Infrastructure Development and Aviation, Government of Karnataka.

It was incorporated as a registered society in 1988 by Dr. Thomas P. John, son of Mr. T. John. T. John College, the institution which is in focus, had its humble beginnings in 1993 from Marougen Education Foundation with its premises in Campbell Road, Austin Town, Bangalore. The college was initiated by Dr. Thomas P. John with a liberal aid from his father Mr. T. John.

It embarked on a journey of growth and development by offering a 3 years degree course in Hotel Management to a batch of 24 students. A decade later the college acquired a sprawling campus on 20 acres of land donated by Mr.

T. John.

The institution since its inception to the present has grown extensively. There are various new departments under it offering various courses. Every year the college is crossing a new milestone and is also setting new benchmarks for itself.

The various departments under T. John College are Department of Hotel Management, Department of Business Management, Department of Computer Applications, Department of Biosciences, Department of Fashion and Apparel Design and Department of Languages.

The courses offered by T. John College are Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Commerce (M. Com.) Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Bachelor of Science (Bio-Technology/Bio- Chemistry/Genetics) (B. Sc. BT), Master of Science in Bio-Technology (M. Sc. BT), Master of Science in Bio-Chemistry (M. Sc. BC), Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Apparel Design (B. Sc. FAD) and Bachelor of Arts (Journalism/English/Psychology) [B. A. (JEP)].

The course in M. Com. has been initiated recently during the duration of last 5 years in the Department of Management Studies. The management of T. John College also plans to initiate a course in B. Com. very shortly for which the approval has duly been taken from Bangalore University.

T. John College aims to provide good academic results, to provide holistic education to the students, to provide a global perspective in learning to the students, to provide growth marked with quality, innovation and continuous thirst for knowledge, to fashion them into responsible citizens of tomorrow.

From 2011 to 2016 the T. John Group of Institutions has produced 27 University Rank Holders. The institution since its inception to the present has grown extensively. There are various new departments under it offering various courses.
