Tirunelveli Medical College (TMC), Tirunalveli was established in 1965.

The College and hospital are located in an extensive area of about 350 acres of land at High Ground in Palayamkottai, the twin city of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu State of India.

The college and hospital are funded and managed by Government of Tamil Nadu.
The hospital has the bed strength of 1078 with almost all special departments with necessary facilities like the Colour Doppler, Ultra Sound Scan, CT Scan and Dialysis Unit and with recent inclusion of 800 MA & IIT (Image Intensifier TV).
The Books and Informatics Services offered by the institute are quite modern and can compete with any of the good colleges in India. There are more than 5000 books in the grand old library on paramedical and medical studies.
