Thiruvalluvar College, Vikramasingapuram was established in 1968. Its Affiliated to Manonmaniam University.

The College started functioning in the year 1968-69. It is named after the great saint THIRUVALLUVAR. It is very close to the temple dedicated to “Lord Siva” at Papanasam (Tirunelveli District) on the banks of river Thamiraparani in sylvan surroundings contributed by the pothigai, supposed to be the seat of St.Agasthiyar, who nurtured the Tamil language in all its varied excellence, thousands of years ago.

The College is under the benign management of Kundrakkudi Thiruvannamalai Adheenam Trust headed by His Holiness Srimath Ponnambala Adigalar. It is now a First Grade College imparting instructions in B.A..(Tamil),B.A.(History),B.Sc. (Mathematics), B.Sc. (Chemistry), B.Com., and M.Com., Degree courses under aided, B.Com. (Al l i ed Computer), B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.A. (Engl ish), B.Com., M.A. (Engl i sh), M.Sc. (Mathematics) and Research Centre in Commerce under Unaided .

Under the inspiring leadership, wise guidance and loving care of Late “His Holiness Kundr kudi Adigalar”, Founder President and former Secretary, the college achieved all-round development. Now the College is Re-accredited with ‘B++’ grade by NAAC in the year 2017.

Aims to promote the values of love, knowledge and virtue through education. Its mission emphasizes the need for knowledge to be rooted in love and to blossom in service. In an elaborated form, the mission includes the following goals

To provide the youth, particularly the under privileged of Papanasam and its neighboring villages, an opportunity to pursue Higher Education. To promote the spirit of nationalization and secularism among students.

To facilitate the acquisition and diversification of knowledge and skills that have not only relevance in the local job market but also the potential to generate, enrich and enlarge human resources for a developing nation. To nurture the all-round development of students by providing an intellectually stimulating and emotionally caring environment.

To create and actively promote a culture of growth and human welfare i.e. growth of the institution, both qualitative and quantitative, as well as the welfare of teachers, non-teaching staff and students.

Fostering activities that promote understanding and healthy interaction between the College and the community at large.
