Thiagarajar College of Preceptors, Madurai was established in 1956 managed under Manickavasagam Charitable Foundation under the trusteeship of Thiru Manickam Ramaswami B.Tech. He is also the Secretary of the College and the Chairman of College Committee.
The College is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education.
The sanctioned strength at present is 100 for B.Ed under aided scheme and an additional intake of 100 is sanctioned from 2009-2010. It is situated in the eastern part of Madurai and on the western bank of Mariamman Teppakkulam. Intercollegiate activities are facilitated by the proximity of Thiagarajar College.
Thiru. Karumuttu Thiagarajar Chettiar is the founder of the college. Thisagarajar College of Preceptors, Maduari is run by Manickavasagam charitable foundation. The college is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers University, Chennai for the B.Ed., degree course. The santioned strength at present is 100 in aided section and 100 as additional intake in self financing section.
It is situated in the eastern part of Madurai and on the western side of Mariamman Teppakkulam. Inter-related activities are faciliated with the proximity of Thiagarajar Model Higher Secondary School, Thiagarajar Arts College, Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Girl's Higher Secondary School are the other Educational Institutions situated in the neighbourhood. The college was declared open on 29th June 1956.
