The National Degree College (Autonomous), Bengaluru was established in June 1945 and under the aegis of The National Education Society of Karnataka (NES).

The college is under the general administrative control of the Governing Council of the National Education Society of Karnataka.

It is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1974 under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.05 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 22nd February 2017.

This is one of the seventeen institutions run by the National Education Society of Karnataka which was established in 1917 with the aim of inculcating the Nationalistic ideals.

It is a co-educational private autonomous college, providing regular courses in which is located in the urban part of Bengaluru played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. It has conferred the status of  "Autonomous" by UGC in 2006.

College At A Glance:

Padmabhusan Dr. H. Narasimhaiah was the chairman of NES until his death. The college flourished under him. He also started the Bangalore Science Forum (BSF), the first of its kind in India, where luminaries from various scientific disciplines would lecture every Wednesday and every day for an entire month of July.

The college was established in 1945 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the National High School. Since its inception, the college has grown enormously, becoming synonymous with ‘Value-based higher education’’.Symbolizing all the value of the National Education Society, founded by men of vision with a commitment to the nation building, the National college in its six decades of existence has richly contributed to the overall development of the society.

The college can pride itself in having produced not only meritorious professionals but also able administrators and men of science with impeccable moral fiber in them.

Many alumni of the college have carved a niche for themselves not only within the country but the outside as well.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under the affiliating university.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams and two years postgraduate courses Arts & Science stream with various specializations under Bangalore University, Bengaluru. It also offers UGC Sponsored Certificate Courses & Add-On Courses.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Bangalore University, Bengaluru, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

The admission criteria for the college is submit the online applications, attend the interview/counseling as per the schedules intimated through call letters send via email and shortlisted applicants after the interview can proceed with the remaining admission formalities.
