Swami Vivekanand Degree College, Amarmau (Dist. Sagar) was established in 2000 and managed under Swami Vivekanand (Svn) Group.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

It is also recognized & approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed. & M.Ed. courses.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 1st May 2015.

It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Sagar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts and Commerce streams with various specializations and offers two years post graduate course in Master of Commerce with various specializations under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar. It also offers Postgraduate Diploma course.

The college also offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled to a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college offers two years Master of Education (M.Ed.) course for those who have completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the graduation level.
