Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science (SLCS), Madurai was established in 1994.
The college got autonomy status in the year 2006.
It has been managed by Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy Foundation.
It is the first self-financing college in Tamilnadu to be re-accredited with B++ status by NAAC.
The aim of the institution is to provide faculty of good academic repute, a brilliant student community, and excellent technical and supporting staff.
The objective of the institute is to approve institution of new programs of study leading to degree and / or diplomas and to perform such other functions and institute committees, as may be necessary and deemed fit for the proper development, and fulfill the objectives for which the college has been declared as autonomous.
