From July 2012 onwards, State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Indore started its first academic session and it is an autonomous institute jointly supported by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India and Department of Tourism, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

The institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida and it was registered under Society of Registration Act with District Registrar of Societies, Indore. The institute campus located near Bypass of A.B. Road (Agra-Bombay Road) 7 km from Tejaji Nagar Square and 3 km from Rau Circle.

It's first academic session commenced from July 2012 and B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality & Hotel Administration starts in the year 2015-16. SIHM is going to be considered to be the right place to acquire skills and knowledge and to develop the appropriate attitude and professional skills of young boys and girls in the field of Hospitality Management.

Courses combine the best in the education traditions with the most forward-thinking ideas in the modern hospitality and tourism industries and are kept under constant review with leading members of the industry to ensure compliance with best practice.

The infrastructural facilities and amenities have been created adhering to accredited norms of National Council for Hotel Management with respect to building planning, staffing, equipment requirements and recreation for students.

The Institute is fully equipped with appropriate laboratories for practical session and classrooms for the B.Sc. Degree Program and various short-term courses. Institute is also having experienced faculty with adequate industry exposure and a well-furnished library.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate course in Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. It also offers add-on certificate, diploma, and postgraduate courses as well.
