St.Joseph’s College (Arts & Science), Chennai was established in 1994.

Its affiliated to University of Madras.

It is a Catholic Institution of higher education promoted by the Sisters of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMIs).

The founder of the society Rev.Fr.J.E.Arul Raj OMI is the chairman of this institution.

The main aim of the college is to promote self discipline, academic excellence and to mould persons in pursuance of making a better life for humanity through Arts and Science.

It commits itself to promote self-disciplined, holistic, academic excellence among the students who come from the marginalized, oppressed and disadvantaged sections of the society and enable these students to make significant contribution to the development of the society in particular and the nation at large.
