St. John De Britto College of Education, Thanjavur was established in 2007.

St. John De Britto College of Education, Thanjavur, is one of the prestigious educational institutions, managed by the “Diocese of Tanjore Society” a religious charitable organization. It is the fruition of the   visionary   dream and    meticulous planning of the  philanthropic Bishop, Most.R ev.Dr.M.Devadass Ambrose, and the long cherished aspirations of the priests, religious and laity of the diocese. At present there are 186 educational institutions from primary level to higher educational level.

The college offers Two years B.Ed., and M.Ed., Courses. This co-educational institution is well known for its academic excellence, discipline and moral standards. This institution admits all men and women students irrespective of their caste and creed in order to empower the rural youth. This institution has modern amenities and latest infrastructure to meet the needs of curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities prescribed by the university.
