St. Anne's Degree College for Women, Bengaluru Urban was established on 16th July 2005 and was founded by the Society of Sisters of St. Anne’s - Madras and it is a constituent parts of the St. Anne's Society Educational Institutions.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated to Bangalore University, Bengaluru and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.52 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 17th March 2016.

St. Anne‘s Degree College upholds the motto of "Creating a Just Society". The Vision, Mission and the Objectives of the college are framed in accordance with the core values of the Institution and communicated effectively to the campus community through the Prospectus, display at the reception and the college Website.

The curriculum for the various degree courses is prescribed by Bangalore University, Bengaluru to which it is affiliated. To make the curriculum more effective the college conducts various Value added programmes, Seminars, Workshops, Conferences and Industrial Visits.

The senior faculty members are regularly deputed by the college to offer ideas and suggestions, to the University with respect to syllabus revision.

In accordance with the Vision, the Institution has been helping the marginalized and economically underprivileged by incorporating new programmes like B.Sc Rehabilitation which benefit students.

The institution networks and interacts with beneficiaries such as NIMHANS, National Entrepreneurship Network, and Internships with media in the effective operationalization of the curriculum.

It plans, prepares and offers various skill based certificate courses like Diploma in BPO, Web Journalism, Tally, Retail Marketing, E-Filing, Computer Application, SAP, and Animation.

Students are actively involved in various innovative activities to facilitate teaching-learning process.

The college has an active Placement Cell which enthusiastically organizes placement activities including placement drive, training, and development of students, aptitude training on a regular basis as per the industry requirements.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with various specializations under Bangalore University, Bengaluru. It also offers various Add-On courses.
