Sri Sowbackiya College of Education, Ariyalur is a co-education institution sponsored by V.A.Rathina Mudhaliar Bakkiyavathi Ammaal Education & Charitable Trust, with the able Guidance of the Managing Trustee, Rm.B.Shanmuhanathan.

The institute was established in 2009.

The college is recognized by the Government of Tamilnadu and approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) and affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai.
