Sri Sankara Arts and Science College, Kancheepuram was established in 1991.

The college is affiliated to the University of Madras. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses with premier faculty in first-rate scholarly and research environments.

The college founded to provide quality higher education to the rural folk and to promote among the youth, the highest and loftiest ideals that constitute the essence of the culture.

The college got ISO 9001-2000 certification in 2008 and the college is recognized under the UGC Section.

OBJECTIVES

The Origin of the College has been closely linked with reviving the ancient Scholarship and Research in“Gatikasthana” – All comprehensive university existed in Kanchipuram.
The College was started to fulfill the aspirations of the rural area people in and around Kanchipuram, who are basically farmers and weavers, by serving them effectively, providing scientific education to their wards.
Making Education a powerful medium and a tool to promote the social and economic development to backward and disadvantaged communities.
