Sri Ranga Poopathi College of Education, Villupuram is affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore and approved by NCTE.

The institute was established by Sri Ranga Poopathi Educational Charitable Trust.

The objective of the trust is to establish the educational institutions, to give quality  teacher education, higher education and providing for the advancement of all other objects general public utility.

The trust was established in 1998.

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Sri Ranga Poopathi College of Education in its various departments.

The College offers Bachelor of Education course for those who have passed graduation with minimum aggregate of 45 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
